Hawaiian Luau at the nude beach

Tuesday night is one of my regularly scheduled events for Cherry Street Nightclub. So I logged on a bit early and tried to think up a theme for the event. I really wanted to have the event at the nude beach I guess because I like that place so much. It's tricky to hold an event or contest there though because most contests are based on what your avatar wears. If you are nude, there are not a lot of options. So I asked my girl about it and she only took 10 seconds to come back with, "Hawaiian Luau. Then you can give a lei out to everyone and they can then say they got lai'd at the party". Made great sense to me! So I went to marketplace and found a couple of boxes of transferable leis to hand out, wrote up group notices and sent them out. Then I went to fire up my Sams Broadcaster and nothing... It would not connect with the music database software. There are no other options with that app, just that it works or it doesn't. I had run into this problem once before in the past and could barely remember what the solution was, but I knew that I was not going to be able to repair it this evening so I left the music stream on Classic Rock and we moved ahead with the event. As it turned out, it was much more successful than I thought it would be. This makes me wonder about the value of a live DJ. But that will wait for a future post. This one is about how much fun that nude beach is.

Brox was the host and the lovely Emi showed up to support the event and she brought Clancy with her. My pet was going to be a bit late so I focused on group announcements. I believe we ended up with event participants from all four of the groups I sent notices out to including Cherry Street, Hells Angels, Brox's Fans and Golden Cage. Ken showed up and the party got underway. I activated the contest board and the trivia ball. The questions were actually not all pirate questions this time and that made for much more fun. Wronger popped in and the poor girl had trouble all night long with her appearance. This has happened to all of us on more than one occasion I'm sure. It doesn't matter how fast your internet connection is, sometimes your inventory items simply will not load up. In her case, her upper body would stay gray colored all night long. Sometimes even her hair would not rez in. She tried everything: Switching viewers, rebaking, replacing, changing group tags, teleporting, editing appearance, all of it and while she did seem to rez in a little better each time, it was one of those hopeless SL asset server issues. I'm certain that the next day, she had no troubles at all with her inventory. It's just the way it goes.

Cat showed up in a grass skirt and coconut shell top along with a lei of course. It did not take me long to find my handy Ronco pocket mower and get rid of the pesky skirt. She was soon dancing nude with me as she is intended to. About that time, everyone started losing clothing all except for the leis. Cowboy and his Mrs. Miley arrived, then Yin and Darcy. Most everyone was having a lot of good luck with the trivia questions and that always makes for some good competitive fun. Cowboy won the event and people stayed afterwards for quite a while. Cat and I headed out to say our good nights to each other. Brox did a good job hosting and my evening was quite easy as I did not have to worry about the music.

The next night, Clancy held a Cowgirl/Cowboy event. It started out kind of slow so I focused on finding cowboy gear to dress in. Emi was unable to make group announcements (some sort of SL glitch) so I did that. Clancy composed the announcement and all I had to do was send them out. Emi wore a very cool cowgirl outfit and took to the pole. Ian and Darren and cat and others arrived later on and we had a good time then. Clancy played mostly country music all night and I discovered that it is cat's favorite music, so I told her to make a list of titles she likes and that I would see about getting some of them to play at the next event.

Afterwards, it was time to go shopping for a new bed. The old one was good but lacking in a few minor areas so it was time to at least try out some new ones. Cat suggested the same guy who created the beach lounger set she has which I'm very impressed with, so we went to his place. He had some very good looking beds with the 'extras' I required. The cost was not too bad so we started trying them out. Suddenly I notice Windmaster on my radar. Come to find out, he and cat are friends and share some of the same interests. He answered many of my questions about the beds and pretty much amused himself with watching us test them out. We decided on a look and style that would work for our bedroom and bought it. We said our goodbyes to Windmaster and headed for home. What happened next was.... incredible! No pictures, I was too damn busy. It will take months to explore all of the possibilities of this bed. It has much more in it than meets the eye. If you are into BDSM or group sex, Windmaster's place is worth a check. He also gave me a discount for purchasing in his store rather than on Marketplace so keep that in mind too.
